Module Information

Congratulations! You have now reached Module 7, the final module, entitled Agents of Growth: Student, Parent, Community, Educator, Self. In this module, participants will reflect on what they have learned throughout the year and revisit many of the lessons that occurred earlier. Often, the school is emphasized as a place where learning takes place. We all know that learning can occur anywhere, and other agents of growth, such as parents and community members, contribute to helping students succeed. This module will examine some strategies on how to create partnerships with parents and the community.

In Module 7, you will:

    • Make personal connections through a reflective journal and Collaboration Group meetings.
    • Learn how to involve the parents with learning activities at home.
    • Become familiar with involving community members in the school.
    • Identify components used in intervention programs.
    • Reevaluate the growth of the three students for whom you created literacy profiles in Module 3.
    • Reexamine your philosophy statement.
    • Reflect on your professional growth using the Profile of Reading Instructional Practices.
    • Actively participate in the Collaboration Group process.
    • Evaluate your own growth and the effectiveness of the module.
