Lesson 4.9: Evaluation and Literacy Talk

Focus: Share your learning and evaluate the module.

Prior to the Collaboration Group Meeting

1. Reflection Journal

You do not need to respond in your reflection journal for this final lesson.

2. Literacy Talk

This is an online discussion that allows all the participants across the Pacific region to read each other’s comments and respond. If you are using the CD supported by the online version, read and do the following:

  1. Go to the course website at blackboard.prel.org.
  2. Click on the Login button and a new window will open. Type your user name and password to enter the course site.
  3. Select the link for this module.
  4. Next click on the Communication tab, Discussion Board area, and answer the Literacy Talk questions for Module 4, which are listed below:

    • Which instructional approach did you find most effective with your students and why?
    • What questions do you still have about any particular approach?
    • What suggestions do you still have about any particular approach?

  5. After posting your message, respond to at least two other participants.

If you are using the CD version independent of the online version, complete the Literacy Talk question(s) above, and email or fax it to your instructor.

3. Module Evaluation

After completing all lessons in this module, complete the online evaluation at blackboard.prel.org. If you are using the CD version independent of the online version, complete the Module Evaluation, and select a journal entry to email or fax to your instructor.

During the Collaboration Group Meeting

  1. Discuss the Literacy Talk questions.
  2. Discuss the Module 4 evaluation questions:
    • What was most helpful in this module for you?
    • What was confusing in this module?
    • Do you have any suggestions to improve this module?
  3. Discuss the connections, questions, and new learning gained during this module.
  4. Determine the facilitator, recorder, timekeeper, date, time, and location for the first Collaboration Group meeting of Module 5.

After the Collaboration Group Meeting

The timekeeper emails the attendance to the instructor.
