A Focus on Fluency Forum
November 6-7, 2002
PREL’s successful “Focus on Fluency
Forum,” held November 6-7, 2002, in San Francisco, examined
the issue of developing reading fluency from the researcher and
practitioner points of view. The forum brought together more than
120 participants from the Regional Educational Laboratories, Comprehensive
Centers, state and district departments of education, and institutes
of higher education, as well as researchers in the area of fluency,
to learn and share current knowledge. Presentations on current research
included definitions, strategies, interventions, assessments, and
conditions that promote fluency. Presenters at this Forum shared
the following PowerPoint slides.
