The Pacific Lending Boxes

The Pacific Lending Boxes program is a collaboration between the arts councils in
Guam, the CNMI, and American Samoa. The project objective, as established by the three
councils in October 2002, is to improve visual art education and understanding of
Pacific culture in the community and schools.

Six easily transportable boxes are filled with artifacts created by the artists from each
entity. Additional artifacts were purchased throughout the Pacific region. The boxes include artifacts from Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia.

Please contact the arts councils from the three territories for more information on this project.
