The United States General Services Administration has found a way to recycle
their technology wares back into the public education sector through its
CFL program. Whenever a government agency no longer needs a computer,
modem, printer, or server because of downsizing or technology upgrading,
the equipment is transferred to public schools or educational nonprofit
organizations through the program. Since they are donated from government
agencies, most of the computers have Windows operating systems. All public
schools are eligible to participate in the program. Visit the CFL website
for eligibility requirements, registration, or assistance in assessing
your technology needs.

Education, connects users with experts through AskA services,
Internet-based questions and answers. Check out The Learning Center
by clicking on For Kids. K-12 teachers and students will find
this section useful in searching for curriculum-related information and
reviewing topics already discussed. VRD also provides consulting and training
services for help desk providers, federal government agencies, libraries,
the K-12 education community, and other organizations building digital
