Kosraes biannual Education Week, facilitated by education and PREL
service center staff, principals, specialists, and PTA officials, will
be held at Kosrae State Gymnasium May 20-24, 2002. Debates, essay and
poster contests, track and field competitions, cultural presentations,
and student displays are just some of the activities planned for the week.
The purpose of this special event, which replaces regular classroom instruction
and typically hosts 500 participants, is to allow teachers and students
to share what they have learned during the school year and to provide
an opportunity for all stakeholders to witness what has transpired through
the years. In the past, participants have included students, teachers,
parents, state government leaders, and people from the private sector.
