rubistar.4teachers.org
This site provides an invaluable Webbased tool to help teachers develop
rubrics. RubiStar lets teachers choose the type of project they would
like to assess and suggests measures and categories for assessment. After
a free registration, users can also save their rubrics online and analyze
rubric data for an entire class by entering students’ scores. Please
see “Performance Assessments” on page 20 for more details
on rubric-based assessment.

In addition to many other teacher resources, this website links to sample
rubrics and articles on how to create, develop, and evaluate them. Samples
include rubrics designed for use in assessing student webpages, educator
technology skills, and general and subject-specific content knowledge
and skills. Related information on graphic organizers, project-based learning,
and multimedia electronic portfolios is also available through this site.
