Opportunity for Web Designer/Book Designer

Description

Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL) is seeking a Web Designer/Developer and a Print Designer for two websites, one game guide, and a teacher’s guide to accompany the Cosmos Chaos!™ video game. Individuals or companies may bid on all four components or individual pieces. The project is funded through the U.S. Department of Education, Star Schools Grants Award No. U203G050007.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Web Design (Expert Level)

Produces graphic sketches, designs, and copy layouts for online content

Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles, and aesthetic design concepts

CSS/HTML (Intermediate to Expert Level)

Familiar with Web standards

Familiar with accessibility standards

Familiar with 508 Compliance

Print Design Layout (Expert Level)

Produces graphic sketches, designs, and copy layouts for printed content

Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles, and aesthetic design concepts

Due Date for Proposals

PREL will continue to solicit proposals until selection is made. Selection process will begin May 1, 2008.

Cosmos Chaos!™ User Guide (Game Guide; approx. 100 pp.)

Design and layout of approx. 100 pp. of content and images
PREL to provide character images and all game art needed

Cosmos Chaos!™ Resource Website for Parents & Teachers (approx. 120 pp.)
Cosmos Chaos!™ Resource Book (approx. 200 pp.)

Design and layout of approx. 200 pp. of content and images
