PREL occasionally seeks assistance for its programs and projects. Submission instructions and information will be posted here for services requested.

EVALUATORS

PREL is looking for independent contractors to assist with short-term evaluation work.  These contractors will assist in work in the field of evaluation.  Contractors need to demonstrate skills and knowledge of the following in their resume:

  • Understands and uses descriptive and inferential statistics and can analyze numerical and verbal data
  • Uses Word, Excel, or compatible software and analyzes quantitative data using SPSS (preferably), SAS, or other comparable statistical software
  • Understands research design, measurement, and can produce and analyze data from questionnaires
  • Can conduct both group and individual interviews and analyze the resulting verbal data in a manner that will withstand possible challenges regarding the validity of the analyses conducted or the conclusions based on them

COPY EDITORS

PREL occasionally needs independent contractors to assist in the field of editing and proofreading for print and multimedia publications published and disseminated by PREL to internal and external audiences. Contractors should demonstrate skills and knowledge of the following:

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word
  • Knowledge of and experience using American Psychological Association (APA) style, copyediting and proofreading marks
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a technical editor or as editor for a publication

GRANT AND CONTRACT PROPOSAL WRITERS

PREL is looking for independent contractors to assist with proposal writing. These individuals will help research and write contract and grant applications to be submitted to private and public agencies. Experience in educational proposal writing is required. Experience in writing grant applications for the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Institute of Education Sciences (IES) is preferred. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are also a plus.
