Jane BarnwellDirector, LILI Ms. Jane Barnwell is Director of Library and Information Literacy Initiatives at PREL, and has worked in the field of Pacific library training and development for more than 25 years. Her professional experience includes project management, strategic planning, Pacific collection development, fiscal management, and university-level instruction. At PREL, Ms. Barnwell directs all library and information literacy initiatives, manages the Pacific Digital Library project, develops Pacific-centered programs for regional library staff training, and plays a critical role in formulating collaborative grants with libraries, archives, and museums throughout the Pacific. Ms. Barnwell joined PREL in 2006. Her academic background is in library science and anthropology. From 1994–2001, she served as Librarian at Palau Community College; from 2001–2006 she served as Pacific Specialist at University of Hawai‘i Hamilton Library’s Pacific Collection, and as an instructor for the University’s Library and Information Science Program. Ms. Barnwell serves as an adviser for the Pacific Islands Association of Libraries, Archives, and Museums (PIALA). |
