Canisius FilibertDirector, T&FASEGP Mr. Canisius Tkel Filibert serves as Director for the Territories and Freely Associated States Education Grant Program (T&FASEGP), which provides technical assistance to four grantees in the Pacific. He ensures that grantee projects are implemented as originally proposed. As a certified sheltered instruction trainer, Mr. Filibert has conducted professional development institutes to teachers in the Pacific entities for more than 5 years. He is knowledgeable in Micronesian cultures, languages, and peoples, and has performed numerous workshops and seminars on the topic of Micronesian cultural awareness and responsiveness. Mr. Filibert is also PREL’s Educational Equity Specialist, coordinating activities of the Pacific Equity Cadre. Mr. Filibert holds a master’s degree in linguistics from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He joined PREL in 1998 and is a native of the Republic of Palau. |
