Mr. Vogel is Secretary and Executive Committee member of the PREL Board. He was born in New York, NY, and graduated from Samuel J. Tilden High School. He holds the following degrees: AB from City University of New York; JSD from the University of Virginia School of Law; and LLM from New York University. In addition to the PREL Board, he serves as a member and past Dean of the Consular Corps of Hawai‘i; Chairman, Pacific Air Forces Civilian Advisory Council; Chairman of the Board, Bobby Benson Drug Rehabilitation Foundation; Board Member, Bailli Provincial—La Chaine des Rotisseurs; Member, Judicial Council of Hawai‘i; Member, The Deputies; Director Emeritus, First Hawaiian Bank; President Emeritus, Duty Free Shoppers Group, Limited.
He is former Governor and Chairman of the Board, East-West Center; past Vice Chairman of the Board, YMCA of Honolulu; and past Chairman of the boards of the Hawai‘i Business Roundtable, Hawai‘i Loa College, and the Honolulu Symphony Society. Mr. Vogel is the recipient of the Kenneth O. Lester Memorial Award for Distinguished Community Service and is the Royal Danish Consul for Hawai‘i by appointment of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, who conferred the Royal Order of Knight of the Dannebrog upon him.
