Fr. Croghan is the chair of PREL’s Board of Directors. Previously, Fr. Croghan served as Director/Principal of Xavier High School, Chuuk, FSM. Boards and committees he has served on include Chair, Catholic Schools Administrators Conference, Micronesia; Chair, BOD, Micronesian Seminar; Member, BOD, Ponape Agriculture and Trade School (PATS); and Charter Member, Rotary Club of Truk Lagoon.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, Fr. Croghan graduated from St. Peter’s Preparatory School there. Recently, he completed an EdM degree from Harvard University. He also holds a BA in Philosophy from Fordham University, New York, NY, and a Masters of Divinity and Licentiate in Sacred Theology from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, Cambridge, MA. In 2002, he was a Visiting Fellow at Klingenstein Center for Independent School Education, Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, NY.
Fr. Croghan’s professional experience includes working as a janitor, summer camp counselor, tutor, classroom teacher, teacher and director of summer enrichment programs for middle school students, and secondary school administrator. He has extensive experience conducting staff development workshops in the Catholic schools around Micronesia. Also, he has been an instructor at the College of Micronesia, Chuuk; a teacher at St. Cecilia Elementary School; and a Member of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Accreditation Visiting Committees to schools in Guam, the CNMI, and the RMI. Fr. Croghan has been a Member of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) since 1974 and an ordained Catholic priest since 1985.
