Enhancing community well-being through partnerships in education

PREL is governed by a Board of Directors that represents constituent groups in the 10 U.S.-affiliated entities in the Pacific which comprise PREL's Pacific Service Region. Board members include chief state school officers, teachers, government and business leaders, and representatives from higher education, private schools, and the community.
PREL is managed by the President and Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to her are the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Chief Programs Officer (CPO). These three individuals form the PREL Cabinet. The Cabinet's function is to examine organizational issues and lead the organization.
Our Directors work to create and provide resources and products developed to promote educational excellence for children, youth, and adults, particularly in multicultural and multilingual environments.
In order to inform the quality and rigor of PREL’s work, many of PREL’s programs utilize Advisory Councils. The Advisory Councils are comprised of nationally and often internationally renowned experts in their respective fields. The Advisory Council members typically convene with PREL staff to discuss the designated work and provide critical guidance and review.
The Senior Affiliate program allows PREL to draw on the expertise of educational professionals to provide services to PREL in various specialty areas.
The Pacific Educator in Residence (PEIR) program enhances and develops the personal and professional skills of Pacific educators in the context of PREL's ongoing work.
Visiting Scholars are commonly recognized leaders in their fields who come to PREL from many organizations—locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally—to provide PREL and the region it serves with the benefits of their expertise.
