Put this book on your independent reading shelf and watch the Samoan children's delight. Even non-Samoan children can enjoy this cat counting book. It will be easy for them to learn the Samoan numbers. They can find the numerals in the pictures and count the cats. Samoan children will have fun reading it to English-speaking friends and they in turn can read an English counting book to the Samoans. Perhaps the whole class can learn to sing "Ten Little Cats" in Samoan!
